The present collection contains some of the papers presented at the XV Heidegger Colloquium: Heidegger and Eastern Thought held at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) on the occasion of the II Colloquium on Oriental Thought held at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) and the III National Seminar of Contemporary Philosophy:"Contemporary Philosophy and Oriental Thought" held at the State University of Londrina (UEL). Those three events could only take place due to their thematic simi larity and a joint organization that allowed inviting renowned speakers from Germany, Japan, Mexico and the U.S. who have been researching on the relationship between Western and Eastern philosophy. The presence of these guest speakers contributed de cisively to the success of the event and the beginning of an exchange among Brazilian researchers in a not very well known field of Brazilian academic philosophy. It is a valuable encouragement for the creation and consolidation of a research field t hat focuses on the relationship between East and West.
